Ryde Harriers is one of the oldest Athletics Clubs in the U.K.
Ryde Harriers is one of the oldest running clubs in the world. We organise a range of open races on the Isle of Wight every year from track championships to the historic IW Marathon. Our active running membership takes part in races across the country (and beyond) on a variety of terrain. We have men’s and women’s teams in both the Hampshire Road Race League and the Hampshire Cross-Country League. As a running club we aim to offer opportunities to runners of all standards and ages as well as supporting and enhancing athletics as a whole on the Isle of Wight.
We are based at Ryde Rowing Club, and the running track at Sandown (Fairway). Our weekly club night is on a Tuesday with members meeting from 6pm onwards to take part in a range of runs throughout the year. Our club year is split into Winter and Summer series’ with club championships for 1mile to 10miles at various points throughout the year. The Winter series starts in late September and finishes at the end of April. It includes handicap, nominated and scratch races. The Summer series runs from May through to September, including multi-terrain runs. Throughout the year there are track races every month from Sandown (Fairway).
