Fancy Running At The 2017 Island Games?

The next Island Games event is being held in June 2017 on the beautiful Swedish island of Gotland. The  qualifying standards for the athletic events have been published so if you fancy representing the Isle of Wight (and Ryde Harriers!) at a brilliant international sporting event, here’s your chance.

The standards are tough but it’s worth bearing in mind that in the past three-person teams have been fielded in the half-marathon with at least one athlete who has not made the A-standard (but has put in excellent performances). The cost and commitment of getting to Gotland may be prohibitive to some as well so it’s worth contacting the team manager Nick Groocock to register your interest if you want to be considered. These are Isle of Wight qualifying standards, the Island Games does not set any standards for competitors.
