Turning right out of the Rowing Club, run along Appley past the tower towards Seaview.
Run the length of Duver Road bearing left then right into Bluett Avenue and past the Old Fort Tavern, continue running up Old Seaview Lane past the Seaview Hotel. (1.5 mile)
Turn left at the mini roundabout down Pier Road, at the boat park take the upper road that goes behind the big flats. (2 mile)
Follow the track, then footpath, until it comes out on the slipway for Seagrove bay, turn right and go straight up the hill along Ferniclose Road.
At the top of the hill, cross Priory Drive, and take the footpath to the left, that runs alongside the Priory Hotel grounds.
When the footpath emerges again onto the Hotel drive, turn right down the hill, then take the footpath on the left 100m after the Nodes Point holiday park entrance. (3 mile)
Follow the footpath, which then comes out on the (St. Helens) Duver Road, follow the Duver road past the National Trust car park, then turn right off the road and go along the causeway.
At the far end of the causeway, follow the footpath to the left, then turn right and go up Latimer Road, at the top of the road go across the green and left along Upper Green Road.
80m after the mini-roundabout take the right fork into Field Lane then West Green, at the end of the road follow the foot path around to the left.
At the end of the first field turn right through the hedge, then head North past the solar panels, turning left into Attrill’s Lane (gravel track). (5 mile)
After 250m take the first major right turn off the track, follow it to a group of farm buildings & houses.
300m after the buildings, as the track starts to rise again, take the footpath on the right-hand side just after the hedge. (6 mile)
When the footpath comes out onto Nettlestone Hill, turn left up the hill and cross over, then take the footpath that runs along the lane in front of the Wishing well pub.
Turn right down Oakhill Road, then left into Springvale Road (7 mile) towards Appley past the tower finishing at the club.
