The venue, Sandown and Shanklin Rugby Club, is situated off The Fairway, Lake, (just across the road from Sandown High School). Grid reference SZ 591844.

Sandown station is three minutes walk from the venue and is served by a frequent train service from Ryde pier. The train connects with each Portsmouth to Ryde Wightlink Catamaran, half hourly service departs Portsmouth 15 minutes past and 15 minutes to the hour.

Medals will be awarded to all finishers.

                   

The course was changed in 2000 but is generally the reverse to that run in previous years except that it now  misses out Sandown High Street.

It is an undulating single lap course taking in Yaverland, Whitecliff, Bembridge, St. Helens and back to Sandown via Brading.

Marker boards at each mile. There are drinks stations at approximately 3½, 7¼ and 10¼ miles with sponge stations at 6 and 8½ miles.
